Dear Tekes:

It is with pleasure that we announce a new partnership between Tau Kappa Epsilon and the Alzheimer’s Association.  TKE has decided to make the Alzheimer’s Association its exclusive charity for the next three years in honor of our Frater, President Ronald Reagan, who announced his diagnosis with Alzheimer’s disease in 1994.  Our letter to President and Mrs. Reagan follows on page three of this kit.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the premier source of information and support for millions of Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease.  Through its national network of chapters, the Association offers a broad range of programs and services for people with the disease, their families, and caregivers and represents their interests on Alzheimer-related issues before federal, state, and local government and with health and long-term care providers.  The Association is also the largest private funder of Alzheimer research (excluding the pharmaceutical industry).  Since 1982, the Association has committed $136 million to research into the causes, treatment, prevention, and cure of the disease.

As a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, you can help in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.  We ask that all fundraising efforts of each TKE chapter benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.  All donations will support our sponsorship of an investigation within the Association’s Reagan Research Institute, a special portfolio of Alzheimer research projects.

Thank you in advance for dedicating your efforts to eradicate Alzheimer’s disease.  With your support, TKE will help make Alzheimer’s a disease of the past.

Sincerely,

R. Andrew Krebs, CFC, KOA
